Too Incredible

The One who comes from above is greater than all. -John 3:31

The idea that a virgin would be selected by God to bear himself… The notion that God would don a scalp and toes and two yes…. the thought that the King of the universe would sneeze and burp and get bitten by mosquitoes…. It’s too incredible. Too revolutionary. We would never create a redeemer, we keep him safely distant in his faraway castle. We allow him only the briefest of encounters with us. We permit him to swoop in and out with his sleigh before we can draw too near. We wouldn’t ask him to take up residence in the midst of a contaminated people. In our wildest imaginings we wouldn’t conjure a king who becomes one of us. But God did.

And the Angles were silent.

‘Stand a Little Taller’ quote of the day!

Commit to Your Education

“Teach ye diligently…that you may be instructed more perfectly in the theory, in principle, in doctrine, in the law of the gospel, in all things that pertain unto the kingdom of God,… Of things both in heaven and in the earth, and under the earth; things which have been, things which are, things which must shortly come to pass; things which are at home, things which are abroad; the wars and the perplexities of the nations, and the judgments which are on the land; and a knowledge also of countries and of kingdoms.”

Doctrine And Covenants 88:78-79

This is a competitive world. You need all the education you can get. the Lord wants you to educate your mind and your heart. It does not matter what field you choose, but become a workman of integrity, prepared to contribute to the world.

“Believe that H…

“Believe that He was Jehovah of the Old Testament, that he was the Messiah of the New Testament, that he died and was resurrected, that he visited the western continents and taught the people here, that he ushered in this final gospel dispensation, and that he lives, the living Son of the living God, our Savior and our redeemer.”

I know that my redeemer lives!

Weekly update!!

Me impressiona como o tempo passa rápido aqui no campo missionário.

It’s a new week.

So, first week of the new transfer is gone! It went by so fast. I’m so grateful for all the miracles I saw in a few days. I feel my Savior’s love daily and I feel the hand of the Lord helping me and my companions during our efforts to bring his children to His house. Me, Elder MacPherson and Elder Jarman had some awesome experiences last week and the most important thing is that we were able to share the message of the Restored Gospel, our special and unique message to this world. Something really important that I learned once again yesterday is that in order to have success not only in this life, but for all eternity, is to learn the real meaning of love! I know that this is something that will take a while, But that’s the point! Everyday is a new opportunity to learn about love, to show love to everyone and to serve others.

“Nothing better than love and service.”

I know that our Heavenly Father loves us in a way that we can’t describe. I know that when we exercise our faith and pray to Him, with a sincere heart and with a question in mind, we will receive an answer and If we do the right thing with that answer we receive, I promise all of you that you will see the hand Lord shaping your own life. I love all of you!

The atonement

No doctrine in the gospel is more important than the atonement of Jesus Christ. If the gospel were compared to a wheel, the Atonement would be the hub and all other doctrines would be the spokes emanating from the hub. As the prophet Joseph Smith declared, “The fundamental principles of our religion are the testimony of the Apostles and our Prophets, concerning Jesus Christ, that He died, was buried, and rose again the third day, and ascended into heaven; and all other things which pertain to our religion are only appendages to it” (Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, 121).

I’m so grateful for the Atonement Of Jesus Christ! In order to be blessed by the atonement of Jesus Christ, we must do the will of the Father and the Son to receive the full benefit of the Atonement. And as we can see in Hosea 10:12, Daniel 9:4 and Psalms 103: 17-18, The Lord’s Mercy is extended to those who keep God’s commandments.

And to finish I would like to share a quote from President Joseph F. Smith, and it says:

“Man cannot forgive their own sins; they cannot cleanse themselves from the consequences of their sins. Men can stop sinning and can do right in the future, and so far their acts are acceptable before the Lord and worthy of consideration. But who shall repair the wrongs they have done to themselves and to others, which it seems impossible  for them to repair themselves? By the atonement of Jesus Christ the sins of the repentant shall be washed away; though they be crimson they shall be made white as wool” (Joseph F. Smith, Gospel Doctrine, 98-99)

I know the atonement is true and that through this amazing expression of Love we can be healed. Come unto the Lord and He will give you rest!

28 ¶aCome unto me, all ye that blabour and are heavy laden, and I will give you crest.

29 Take my ayoke upon you, and blearn of me; for I am cmeek anddlowly in eheart: and ye shall find frest unto your souls.

30 For my yoke is aeasy, and my burden is light.

Ogden North, Go Forth!

So, it’s the beginning of a new transfer and I’m so excited! Yesterday was my second transfer day in the field and It couldn’t be funnier, I had a blast! I love how excitement we have here at the Utah Ogden Mission. So, I got two companions this transfer, how amazing that is? Yeah, Elders MacPherson and Elder Jarman are my two new companions and I know that we will do just fine, as long as we Love our Heavenly Father and obey Him. Another exciting fact about this transfer is that Hermana Fisher, who was in my MTC district, is once again at the same district as I am serving. I think that excitement is the word to describe what is about to come during the next six weeks of this transfer. Not only our companionship but all the rest of our District and zone are also really excited. I’m really grateful for the opportunity to server with amazing elders and sisters. Today we had an amazing meeting, our zone study, to set goals and expectations for this transfer. And I know that all of us were inspired and through Hard work, Love and obedience to the Lord we will accomplish our goals. I’m really happy, I know that this work is true and amazing, I know that Jesus Christ lives and that He loves each and every one of us, I know that He atoned for us and that because of  His atonement we can have everlasting happiness in this life and through all eternity. I love this Gospel and missionary work, I hope you guys are having an amazing week!

It’s the end of the first transfer!

Oh man, these first six weeks went by so fast! I learned so much from my trainer, Elder Ganschow, who’s already at home right now. I’m grateful for the opportunity of serving as a missionary here at the Ogden Utah Mission, I know the Lord has amazing things prepared for me, as long as I Love Him enough to do all the things I have to do to accomplish my goals. In only six weeks I met so many people! Missionaries, members, Less Actives and our new investigators and I still have twenty more months to go, how exciting is that? I look forward for the opportunities I will have to serve my Savior Jesus Christ, I hope i’m spiritually prepared For the challenges I will face but I know that the Lord has prepared a way for not only me, but for all of His children to accomplish their goals and be successful on this life. I’m grateful for everything that happened during the past few weeks and I’m excited for the next transfer!!

Being spiritually prepared

Well, yesterday we had stake conference and one of speakers talked about something very important, which is the personal revelation. But that’s not the main point, because to receive revelation, we must be spiritually prepared. It is very important to be in tune with the Holy Spirit, for it is through him that God speaks to us and receive revelation. But what we do daily to be spiritually prepared? What we are personally doing to improve our communication with the Holy Spirit that beareth witness of Jesus and shows us the Heavenly Father’s will for each of us? It is very important to always pray with real intent(Alma 37:37), because our Heavenly Father loves us so much and listens to our prayers and when we are worthy of having the presence of the Holy Spirit with us, we will know when the answer comes. Another very important step much for our spiritual development is the reading of the scriptures, because when we read the scriptures we can also receive revelation and draw us closer to Christ. My favorite scripture in the Book of Mormon, is in the book of 1 Nephi Chapter 9 verse 6(1 Nephi 9:6), and this scripture helped me a lot and it was an answer to my prayers often. And in my humble opinion, the best thing we can do is to serve our Heavenly Father with all our heart, living the commandments He gave us. By doing these things, I promise each of you, we will be spiritually prepared to receive revelation.
